The starting point
Every job started with an on-site survey: facades, openings, awkward details. Back at the office, everything had to be re-entered into Excel surfaces recalculated, openings deducted, prices applied. Repetitive work, prone to entry errors, that ate up nearly two days every week time taken away from the job sites.
The solution: photo-based quoting
We built Izolex a web application designed for tablet use, used directly on site. The contractor photographs the facades; a vision AI proposes wall planes and openings windows, doors, French windows, garage doors within seconds. He accepts, corrects, or traces them manually. Dimensions always come from his laser meter.
The quoting engine then computes the takeoff surfaces, linear meters, counts flags inconsistent dimensions, applies the contractor's own price grid, and shows the totals before tax, VAT, and after tax live while typing.
The AI locates, the contractor measures.
Design principle: the photo is only an annotation surface. The AI spots the openings, but the laser stays the sole authority on dimensions. No magic measurement a reliable tool, kept under the contractor's control.
The result
The quote is ready during the visit, while the client is still there. The two weekly office days are reinvested where the business earns its living: on the job sites. And every quote follows the same calculation rules no more variants from one Excel file to the next.
